DIY: Trailblazer DRL Capacitor Mod

From: bigapple

First step is pretty simple. Locate the electrical fuse box under the driver rear seat. This is where the work will take place.

After locating the box, remove the large cover on the top. Just simply pull straight up and it'll eventually give. Then locate the large grey wire harness plug on the bottom part of the BCM (it'll be plugged in). Locate the pink/white(stripe) wire in the harness.

Then, splice the positive side of a 10uf/35v capacitor with the pink/white(stripe) wire to get a good connection. I used a simple wire splicer but others have crimped or soldered to this wire which would also be a suitable way to do it. Then locate the lower support for the seat where it is bolted in and tighten the bolt onto the negative side of the capacitor to ground it. (Note: Arrows point to the ground)

Once is all said and done, you will have full power to your HID ballasts even in DRL mode. Enjoy!

To purchase the capacitor in this write up here are the specs:
1 x 10uF 35V Axial-Lead Electrolytic Capacitor
