Factory HID

Factory HID is all HID/Xenon lights that came with the vehicle from the dealership. The headlamps are specially designed only for HID so there are only a few choices for OEM HID bulbs & ballasts.

Aftermarket HID

Aftermarket HID is all HID/Xenon lights that did not come with the vehicle from the dealership. It was installed afterward. Some dealerships are now installing HID kits into OEM housings. This is still an aftermarket HID kit because it is using the halogen headlamp.
